WHY SHOULD I VOLUNTEER WITH THE GREAT SMOKIES HEALTH FOUNDATION SYLVA THRIFT SHOP?
Support your community, meet new people, gain experience in retail sales and customer service, obtain community service hours, or earn service learning opportunities. Proceeds from Sylva Thrift Shop sales help support the Foundation's annual Community Grant program, which fund health initiatives in Jackson, Graham, Macon, and Swain counties.
HOW CAN I HELP?
Cashiering, organizing, sorting clothing and other donated goods, greeting customers, and providing a welcoming, clean, and pleasant shopping experience.
WHAT MAKES A GREAT VOLUNTEER?
Volunteers should be reliable, punctual, team players who are comfortable working with people of diverse racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
WHAT DO WE ASK OF OUR VOLUNTEERS?
At least a 3-hour commitment each week, for a minimum of 3 months. Volunteers age 16 and older are welcome to join our friendly team!

All new volunteers must submit an application form, undergo a background check, and attend a training session.
