The Great Smokies Health Foundation (GSHF) FY2025-27 Community Grants Application process is currently open.

The GSHF Community Grants program, formerly known as “Thrift Shop Grants" will be open for applications June 16, 2025 through July 14, 2025.   The ceiling amount is $7,500 per year, and will be for a 2 year period instead of a single year, for a total award of up to $15,000. Provision of Year 2 funding, if awarded, will be contingent on the achievement of projected objectives, spend-down rate of Year 1 funding, and timeliness of reporting and other deliverables.  
GSHF Focus Areas

  • Increase and maintain access to preventative and primary care, including oral health.
  • Increase and maintain access to mental health care.
  • Increase and maintain access to nutrition and food.
  • Remove barriers to health and safety for vulnerable populations.

The mission of the Great Smokies Health Foundation is to improve the health status of the residents of Jackson, Swain, Macon, and Graham counties through investment and collaboration focused on health, wellness, and prevention. Over the past eleven years the Foundation has provided thousands in grant funding to over 30 agencies and programs located in their service area.
